Melkein paivantasaajalla

Austraalian ylitys kesti kuitenkin n.4 tuntia, ennenkuin saavuimme Brisbaneen. Tulovastaanotto oli taas muuttunut, eli kaikki samassa jonossa jonka jalkeen kuulusteluun mita aiotte tuoda Australian lintukotoon. Selvisimme testista ilmeisesti Lotan tiukan katsee avulla, koska kaikki viranomaiset olivat meille tosi ystavallisia.

Another plane and new flight attendants, or are these just clones of the previous ones?, they all look so much alike. Better seats this time, and better screens too. Again they got worried about Lotta's meals, but Kirsi savvily saved the day again, being the portable baby food factory.

We were already optimistic about this flight as it was the last one, so it seemed shorter from the get go. Or we were just so numb from the 24 hours passed. We passed Australia's costline just after some breaf turbulence, and we finally flew over Aussie ground. There was still 4 hours of flight to be expected, before arriving to Brisbane though.

Check in was changed again, meaning one long queue to the 3rd degree questioning for any suspicious goods, that one might smuggle to safe heaven of Australia. For us an easy task tough, since Lotta's tight stare and winning smile at the customs officer allowed a free pass. Next we got a big taxi and it brought us to Salme in a record time.

The following morning came, and along it, the local paradise. 25c and full blast sunshine, we were cautious not burn our northern skins. And for the most part, we did. Our first order of business was to acquire a rental car, which proved to be a bit of a hassle. But after a couple of phone calls, two hours surfing the net, and a drive to the airport, we managed to get our hands on a Mitsubishi Pajero 4wd. With a nice discount for our troubles :)
